So it has been decided... I will have a separate photo journal... The journal will be friends only and consist of my photography... Both older images from my archives and glimpses of my current/recent work will be shown.... More details will be added later...
As far as knitting related activities goes, I destroyed the Knit 1 sweater I was working on and started work on a different project with the Hellspun... I am still peeved and annoyed I have yet to unearth the proper yarn for the sweater projects I wish to start before dooms day and I really need to get a ball of black yarn to work on the glove idea I have flitting around my mind... I'm also swatching and fondling my hand dyed yarns in hopes of finding inspiration in what to do with it.....
It really sucks to be experiencing a dry spell in finding the "right" yarn, yet I have a *massive* yarn stash in STORAGE... moving blows....

Ohhh two posts in one day! First off, I'm considering creating a separate journal to display my photography... Or maybe I won't display anything at all =P
Second... I have the back finished on the cover sweater from the current issue of Knit 1... Finished it in a few hours, woot! I was un-able to find Homespun colors that suited my personal pallet, but I purchased yarn to make one for my mom (which is what is on the needles now)....... shhh do not tell her!

I need to find a free or cheap scanner, so I can start scanning my photographic work... For most of my stuff is in storage and lord only knows when I will see any of that stuff again.....
As far as my knitting goes, I'm growing increasingly more frustrated over not being able to get the yarn to start some large projects.....
Ohhhh I'm full of angst today.....

I need to make myself an updated knitting "to do" list... among other things... After purchasing both issue 1 and 2 of "Knit 1" and the "Big Book of Knitting Stitch Patterns". I had several projects in mind to start working on (forgetting most of the previous projects list I had posted, har har) but the fates had it out for me and I have yet to find the right yarn or substitution for the projects... argh! It stinks to not have a credit card..... =P
So for now it's back to tiddling around with small projects until I can come up with the right yarns to go on a sweater spree....
In related news... I dyed several skiens of Lamb's Pride bulky with Kool-Aid this week... lovely colors if I do say so myself.... I need to start brainstorming and figure out an array of one skein projects.... With spring around the corner, I am hesitant to make 5 scarfs... aha....

I've been dyeing yarn and will post pics later... If there is a high demand for it... *cough* *cough*
(and I still need to find myself a reasonable FREE image host.... flickr or whatever it is called, leaves something to be desired)

So I finally dug up an image host of sorts for myself... I'd like to apologize for the quality of the pictures, my digital camera had a bit of an accident, and has been behaving obnoxiously ever since...
UFO - My Slytherin scarf.... I thought I'd be progressing a lot more quickly on this.. but I've found myself easily distracted by other projects... I still can't wait to give props to my Slytherin house though.... (fyi: unlike the picture, I am using grey not white for the stripes)
FO - Ear warming goodness... I knitted this on size 7 needles with wool I dyed using kool-aid.. It's supposed to be a small birthday gift for someone I barely know... Sorry about the lack of model, I've not been in much of a modeling mood as of late ;) (fyi: the dark blue looks rather splotchy in the pic, it's not splotchy in person)
STASH - Yarn ahoy! I'm a sucker for digging through sale bins at a LYS... I think half the fun is trying to come up with projects for small quantities of yarn.. I picked up the Noro Fuji for $5, with plans to possibly make a hat. The Katia Zarina I've had my eye for some time, since I thought the schematics would match my Converse. Legwarmers they shall be one day (and I paid $4.50 each ball). Adriafil Explosion, I have not a clue what to do with this, but I a) love nubby bits and b) at $4 a ball, I could not pass on it...
FUN - I <3 Kool-Aid Two small balls I had a bit of Kool-Aid dying fun with....
ACK - Smurfin-A So after almost 24 hours later, my fingers are still dyed blue... At least it has faded enough so I only look partially disease ridden....

Today I successfully managed to dye my left hand blue....
It was a well planned scheme... Seeing that I was dying a batch of yarn, I had decided to wear a glove on my right hand (with the rationality that I only need one hand to squish, squeeze, and fondle the dye into the yarn)...
So what did I do to the dye infused hank? I proceeded to squish, squeeze, and fondle with my left hand.... Completely oblivious to the fact that I had my right hand gloved for a damned good reason.

Right now I am in the midst of pondering if I could turn the "Roller Girl Legwarms" (as seen in Stitch n Bitch Nation) into a full fledge pair of socks... I am really drawn to the fit on the leg vs some of the other knee high sock patterns that I have seen....
Since I'm a sock knitting virgin, I get spasy and wonder if there is some secret sock rules that I may be missing, in my plans....

I'm still lost in a sea of items that need to be finished.... I made a vow that if I could put a dent in the pile over the weekend, then I'll treat myself to some yarn to start a sweater, Monday.
If all goes according to plan..... My projects for the month of February would likely consist of working on:
1. My boyfriend reminded me today of a scarf I had mentioned I wanted to make him a few months back... I guess he really wants the scarf... Thus I shall make him one!
2. Finish up my Slytherin scarf and possibly start another Potter scarf for the boyfriend....
3. Make a CHICKEN VIKING HAT!! WHEE! I've found a friend crazed enough to wear it... Though I will admit, that I am sure I will wear the hat a few times before shipping it off to my friend! ;)
4. Start the Bomber jacket/sweater (whatever) that I posted a link to previously...
5. Start a cardigan (design TBA)
6. Finally make a hat for my mother.
In the near future I'd really like to give knitting a pair of socks a whirl (yes, I am a sock virgin) and make a pretty afghan to celebrate (hopefully) having a new place to live soon...

Seeing that I am living in a location with weather much colder than what I am used to. Freezing my ass off. Makes me think that I need to get moving on more sweater projects.
Such as this one: http://www.yarnforward.com/bomber.html
I like the pattern because it's not "girly"... I also have visions of making myself a fitted zipperd sweater with a hood.... and ribbing... mmmm ribbing...

So here I am wanting to go out yarn shopping today and a little light bulb clicks in my head... Currently I have a strap that needs to be sewn to a bag (I finally got off my bum and purchased a pair of rings), a strap to finish knitting so I can sew together yet another bag, sew together the wrist warmer for my left hand (the right hand warmer has been completed for quite a few days), and I need to figure out what to do with my "rectangular bit that was supposed to be a poncho but I doubt I have enough yarn for such a thing". I know I could just frog the damned thing and re-use the yarn for another project, but my masochistic side is determined to figure out *something* to do with what I have.
Not to mention I have another bag I'm supposed to be making, a sweater I'm supposed to be making, and I should really come up with a gift for an upcoming birthday. I am more than aware that yarn shopping = going on some wild new project spree.
Part of me wants to be strong and refuse to go yarn shopping until I have my half-finished projects completed. The other half says "Damn the un-finished projects! It is their fault for not magically finishing themselves! blargh!"
or something.

< passing thought > Must find motivation to get off my ass and go purchase a pair of D-rings.... *groan* < / passing thought>
Let me just admit that I am a bit of an compulsive lurker and community whore, which could be why I created this lj. It's about time for me to rebel against my wall-flowery nature and contribute to places that I often lurk around.
I don't make much promises to post much here.. At least keeping a record of my projects would be a grand idea, right?
